Denzil Morrison has been part of Open Box Software’s journey for over 20 years, starting as a software engineer in 2004 and growing alongside the company. In the early years, he played a hands-on role in architecting and leading the development of many of the solutions Open Box built for its customers—an experience that shaped his understanding of both technology and client needs. Over time, he took on key leadership positions, including Director of Custom Software and Director of Automation, staying at the forefront of innovation and problem-solving.
As Chief Technology Officer, Denzil now drives Open Box’s technology across the Custom Software and Data & Analytics divisions. But for him, it’s not just about the tech—it’s about the people. He’s passionate about empowering teams, fostering a positive and supportive culture, and ensuring Open Box delivers a truly remarkable experience to clients.
Beyond the world of software, Denzil is invested in the future of technology education, serving on the advisory boards for the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University’s Information Systems faculties. He also has a keen interest in property rental and refurbishment, blending his professional expertise with a personal passion for real estate. He is a hands-on person who loves a challenge—whether it’s tackling a complex business problem, a DIY project, or chasing after his two young children. Above all, family is at the heart of everything he does.
